AFRICAN WILDERNESS RESEARCH EXPERIENCE WITH BEN BRITTON JUNE/JULY 2017
This is a trip for those of you who are looking to experience life as a wildlife researcher in Botswana.
The trip is largely divided into two parts. During the first part of the trip you will visit various captive wildlife conservation programs in South Africa, including Elephant Whispers, Chimp Eden and Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre. Where you will go behind the scenes and get up close with African Elephant, Cheetah, Chimpanzee, African Serval and more. You will also spend an afternoon game viewing in the famous Kruger National Park.
After a few days in South Africa you will then be transferred to Botswana to join Ben Britton and the research team at Serolo for an introduction to African wildlife research.
Staying at the beautiful Serolo Camp you will spend 5 days with Ben and the research team learning what it takes to be a wildlife researcher in Africa. You will be actively involved in the conservation and preservation of Africa’s wildlife in their natural environment.
Whether it be carrying out animal counts and observations at a Spotted Hyena den, tracking elephant, camera trapping for leopards or spending the evening setting up calling stations to locate lions, this trip has a little bit of everything. Guests will take part in a number of set activities as well as being involved in which ever project is being undertaken by the research team at the time.
A perfect introduction to life as a wildlife researcher in one of Botswana’s most unique locations.
Funds raised from this escorted trip will go towards Mashatu Research for their ongoing wildlife research and big cat conservation work in Botswana.
